Inspirational Artist – Agnes Cecile

Cecile has been one of my influences for years now. I thought I would share with my friends, her piece ‘Glorious Wounds’. It is one of my favorites.

I used a reference picture for this drawing. I treated it as a quick study in graphite pencil. (:
This one took me about 10 minutes.

 

Drawing class – Progress

Self-portrait.
In my studio, I drew up some experiments, to get some idea of what the final outcome will look like.
One was complete using black ink, and the other with the addition of red watercolour paint. 
I prefer the red one, but it will need more work. The proportions are a bit out, etc.

This semester, my theme involves loose drawings of gothic figures, using only 2 colours (red and black). I want to make more use of simple lines, and tone. 

Tuomas Holopainen sketch

A5 Sketch of Tuomas Holopainen I finished a few days ago.
Nightwish is one of my biggest influences, and so I will be drawing each of the members.
This photo was taken directly under my desk lamp, so it isn’t the best quality >> However, I plan on selling this one when I can find a frame.

Etching from today

This is my favorite etching from today, though I think I will end up re-doing it. The lines aren’t as strong as I wanted them.

This is from the short video I made in class. The blood isn’t actually that bright when the video is playing, and I intended for it to have a low-quality look. Despite all of the problems I was having using Flash, this was quite fun to make.

After the visual arts course is over for the year, I will be experimenting with more hair/make-up :3

Enslaved night!

Me and my boyfriend went to an amazing gig at the HI-FI, on the 1st November!
This time we went to go see Enslaved, but I actually enjoyed the opening band even more (I also obtained their album!). The violinist was brilliant, and it has inspired me to get back into music. I have barely even picked up my guitar since I started the Visual Arts course.
Anyway, here are a couple of low quality images I took from the mosh pit. One is of Enslaved, and the other is Ne Obliviscaris.

My studio

This is what my studio looks like at the moment. Just under 2 weeks before everything is being assessed and I still have so much to do! My paintings are looking ok at the moment.
